Salmon Run: 28 Years in the Running
Patagonia is excited to announce the 28th Annual Salmon Run, to be held November 10, 2024.
This year marks the 28th Annual running of the salmon and we are going to make it better than ever. As a reminder, this race always sells out, so make sure you get your registration in.
Additionally, we want the Salmon Run to be a Zero-Waste-Event to mitigate sending anything to the waste stream that doesn't have to. We will send out details on how to prepare for this closer to the day of the race, but plan to bring your own water bottle and coffee mug.
THERE WILL NOT BE DAY-OF REGISTRATION FOR THE SALMON RUN. ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST REGISTER ONLINE, WHICH CLOSES AT NOON ON FRIDAY, OCTOBER 25TH OR WHEN THE RACE SELLS OUT
Packet pickup will begin at 7:30AM on Sunday, November 10
29th Annual Hart of the West Pow wow
The Hart of the West Pow Wow is a powerful gathering of multiple Indigenous peoples coming together to enjoy food, traditions, community, and dance. The sense of pride of the traditional dances drummers and singers that embodies the community vibes in this two day pow wow.
29th annual River Rally Cleanup and Environmental Expo
The 29th Annual River Rally Clean Up and Environmental Expo is an opportunity for Santa Clarita volunteers of all ages to help clean up a portion of the Santa Clara River, one of the last natural, free-flowing river systems in Southern California. This year's event will be held on Saturday, September 21 from 8:00-11:00 a.m. at a brand new location, the William S. Hart Pony Baseball and Softball Complex (23780 Auto Center Court). Pre-registration for this event is required and will open on July 15, 2024 at SantaClaritaVolunteers.com.
TGIF Environmental Defense Center
Join us for the best happy hour in Santa Barbara!
For more than 20 years, EDC’s tgif!s have been a staple of the south central coast’s summer season. The EDC team is very excited to bring our community together again in our downtown courtyard in summer 2024. Known as one of the best happy hours in Santa Barbara, tgif! features live music, refreshing beverages, and local food vendors. tgif! is a great gathering of regional nonprofit and environmental organizations, elected officials and good people from throughout the south central coast. EDC is joined at each tgif! by four nonprofit sponsors who are present to speak with the audience about their current work.

Chumash Earth Day 2024
Mark your calendars to come out and celebrate Chumash Earth Day 2024! 🌎
The event will be held on Saturday, April 13th from 10am-2pm at Kitiyepumu Park on the Chumash Reservation in Santa Ynez. This is a free event filled with family friendly activities and booths from local environmental organizations! And if you're one of the first 250 people to register at the event you'll receive a swag bag including a free t-shirt with this year's Earth Day theme "For Our Wild Relatives"

58th Cal-Neva Meeting

Join us at the Red Lion Hotel and Turtle Bay for the last meeting until 2026. The theme for the 2024 conference is “Breaching the Dam: Building Partnerships.” We will bring together people of diverse backgrounds and expertise to tell the stories about the resilience of Native American tribes, competing interests in a water-limited environment, and of native ecosystems and fishes in the face of significant hydrologic perturbations and uncertainty. In doing so, we hope to achieve and learn from others who have experienced conservation successes and find applicable ways for people and the natural world to flourish together.

Ongoing - Agua Blanca/Potholes: Sign up to join ongoing efforts to restore the Agua Blanca Trail within the Sespe Wilderness. Led by Alan Coles, volunteers will be meeting at Lake Piru and heading up the Agua Blanca clearing brush and downed trees. Ongoing - Matilija Trail: Led by another legendary local trail steward named Peter Wilder, the LPFA has continued to work the Matilija Trail on most Thursdays and Saturdays since August. Monthly Beach Cleanup | Ventura Promenade - "C"-Street: Join Surfrider for their monthly beach cleanup! Meet on the promenade at the end of California Street, in front of the Crowne Plaza Hotel. Our local beaches are stewarded by volunteers just like you! We welcome you to an engaging day with family, friends, and new acquaintances, raising awareness about litter and plastic pollution. Respect the Rincon Parkway Beach Cleanup: Meet with a group of like-minded friends of the ocean every second Saturday of the month at various beach sites along the 14 mile stretch of the Rincon Parkway. Surfrider seeks to preserve this important stretch of our coastline for visitors as well as marine wildlife who pass live at the Channel Islands. Ongoing - Hedrick Ranch Nature Area ( HRNA): Friends of the Santa Clara River hosts volunteer events at HRNA on the first Sunday of every month from 9am – 12pm. Have fun maintaining birding trails, working in the plant nursery, and weeding invasive plants. You can learn about our local Santa Clara River Watershed and enjoy some quiet time helping the riparian restoration happening along the river. Click Here
