Volunteer Event - Explore and Restore: A volunteer restoration event on Wills Canyon Trail
This event is taking place on Friday May 29th and Saturday May 30th. Come to just one day or both!
Hosted by the Watershed Stewardship Program and Ojai Valley Land Conservancy! Join us to help control erosion in Wills Canyon in order to benefit downstream trout.
We will be working in teams to conduct gully restoration along the Wills Canyon Trail. There will be an introduction consisting of short educational talks on Southern Steelhead trout and Process-Based Restoration, a native plant walk, as well as a tool safety training.
Day 1: Trail clearance, woody debris staging, and native seed collection. Free Pizza!
Day 2: Hand-building erosion control structures from woody debris. Prizes!
Anyone is welcome to attend. This event will involve an easy 1 mile hike each way along the scenic Wills Canyon Trail. Free Parking, bathrooms within walking distance. This event may be postponed or cancelled in the case of very heavy precipitation or flooding, but otherwise be ready show up rain or shine!

Save Santa Barbara Steelhead Townhall
Our newest project partner the Santa Barbara Fly Fishers are hosting an unforgettable day celebrating fly fishing, art, conservation, and community at the Lobero Theatre. This all-day event will bring together enthusiasts, business owners, policy makers, experts, and artists to share their passion for fly fishing and raise awareness for the endangered Southern California Steelhead. An esteemed panel will speak about the history of steelhead in our region, what has gone wrong that has put them on the Endangered Species list, and what we must do today to save them from extinction. Panel speakers will come from the Santa Ynez band of Chumash Indians, CA Dept. of Fish & Wildlife, Enviro Defense Center, The Cachuma Project, Cal Trout, Koehler Winery, and Santa Barbara ChannelKeeper.
2025 STEAM Carnival
Hands-on activities and friendly STEAM fun (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics) for Prek-12th grade students! With 60+ interactive exhibits to exciting experiments in laboratory and classroom settings the 2025 STEAM Carnival will be a day of imagination and creativity.
Salmon Run: 28 Years in the Running
Patagonia is excited to announce the 28th Annual Salmon Run, to be held November 10, 2024.
This year marks the 28th Annual running of the salmon and we are going to make it better than ever. As a reminder, this race always sells out, so make sure you get your registration in.
Additionally, we want the Salmon Run to be a Zero-Waste-Event to mitigate sending anything to the waste stream that doesn't have to. We will send out details on how to prepare for this closer to the day of the race, but plan to bring your own water bottle and coffee mug.
THERE WILL NOT BE DAY-OF REGISTRATION FOR THE SALMON RUN. ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST REGISTER ONLINE, WHICH CLOSES AT NOON ON FRIDAY, OCTOBER 25TH OR WHEN THE RACE SELLS OUT
Packet pickup will begin at 7:30AM on Sunday, November 10
29th Annual Hart of the West Pow wow
The Hart of the West Pow Wow is a powerful gathering of multiple Indigenous peoples coming together to enjoy food, traditions, community, and dance. The sense of pride of the traditional dances drummers and singers that embodies the community vibes in this two day pow wow.
29th annual River Rally Cleanup and Environmental Expo
The 29th Annual River Rally Clean Up and Environmental Expo is an opportunity for Santa Clarita volunteers of all ages to help clean up a portion of the Santa Clara River, one of the last natural, free-flowing river systems in Southern California. This year's event will be held on Saturday, September 21 from 8:00-11:00 a.m. at a brand new location, the William S. Hart Pony Baseball and Softball Complex (23780 Auto Center Court). Pre-registration for this event is required and will open on July 15, 2024 at SantaClaritaVolunteers.com.

Join us for the best happy hour in Santa Barbara!
For more than 20 years, EDC’s tgif!s have been a staple of the south central coast’s summer season. The EDC team is very excited to bring our community together again in our downtown courtyard in summer 2024. Known as one of the best happy hours in Santa Barbara, tgif! features live music, refreshing beverages, and local food vendors. tgif! is a great gathering of regional nonprofit and environmental organizations, elected officials and good people from throughout the south central coast. EDC is joined at each tgif! by four nonprofit sponsors who are present to speak with the audience about their current work.

58th Cal-Neva Meeting

Join us at the Red Lion Hotel and Turtle Bay for the last meeting until 2026. The theme for the 2024 conference is “Breaching the Dam: Building Partnerships.” We will bring together people of diverse backgrounds and expertise to tell the stories about the resilience of Native American tribes, competing interests in a water-limited environment, and of native ecosystems and fishes in the face of significant hydrologic perturbations and uncertainty. In doing so, we hope to achieve and learn from others who have experienced conservation successes and find applicable ways for people and the natural world to flourish together.

Ongoing - Agua Blanca/Potholes: Sign up to join ongoing efforts to restore the Agua Blanca Trail within the Sespe Wilderness. Led by Alan Coles, volunteers will be meeting at Lake Piru and heading up the Agua Blanca clearing brush and downed trees. Respect the Rincon Parkway Beach Cleanup: Meet with a group of like-minded friends of the ocean every second Saturday of the month at various beach sites along the 14 mile stretch of the Rincon Parkway. Surfrider seeks to preserve this important stretch of our coastline for visitors as well as marine wildlife who pass live at the Channel Islands. Ongoing - Hedrick Ranch Nature Area ( HRNA): Friends of the Santa Clara River hosts volunteer events at HRNA on the first Sunday of every month from 9am – 12pm. Have fun maintaining birding trails, working in the plant nursery, and weeding invasive plants. You can learn about our local Santa Clara River Watershed and enjoy some quiet time helping the riparian restoration happening along the river. Click Here
